 THE FEAST STORY

FEAST is a grassroots community grant for creative projects. Open guerilla dinners are held in unexpected places, aiming to activate local crowds to fund new ideas and innovative business plans.

How does it work?

Projects in need of financing are applying to present their project at a FEAST dinner. Calls for applicants are always open. Each dinner accommodates four projects and attendees for €10 receive a buffet dinner, wine as well as a vote. Applicants have 10 minutes to present live their projects and persuade the audience that they deserve their vote. After the presentations we have dinner, mingle, network, and vote for the best project. At the end of the evening, we count the ballots and the winner goes home with all of the money raised the same night to carry out their project. The grant even though is small, it is essential to spark the next step of the project.

FEAST is based on the idea of micro-grant diners developed in the United States in 2010, in cities such as Detroit (Detroit Soup), Chicago (Sunday Soup), and Brooklyn (Feast Brooklyn). Globally, there are 91 community organizations in 11 countries, all part of the Soup Network.

We would like to thank FEAST Brooklyn for their help and their permission to use the name FEAST.
